Writing to your sponsored child is one of the best parts of sponsorship. Your words bring hope. Your letters show that someone far away cares. Here are some simple tips.
Keep your letters short and simple. Use easy words. Even two or three sentences – “I am praying for you” – can mean a lot. Include a photo of your family, your home, or your pet. Children love photos.

Your child will treasure your words. Avoid criticizing grades or giving unasked advice. Just encourage and love.
What can you write about?
Ask about their school, their favourite subject, their friends, and their dreams. Tell them about your own childhood, your work, your family, and your faith. Share stories about your country’s weather, food, or traditions. If you have children, ask them to draw a picture to send.

- “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
- “We had a big snowstorm yesterday. Does it ever snow in Uganda?”
